Cannot get mic_demo working

I followed the getting started guide and got the fpga and mcu programmed however when I run the mic_demo it gives me all zeros.

I am using a RPi model B+

Ben,

For the RPi Model B+ please run the raspbian update:
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude upgrade
sudo reboot

run again the ./mic_demo …be noisy (really noisy)
