Use ESP32 to connect with WIFI

#1

Hey guys,

I am new here, but I am wondering if it is possible to use the ESP32 to connect with WIFI, to use it as a local wifi dongle.

For example to connect to the raspberry pi without plug in an ethernet cable or an extra wifi dongle.
Yes I know that the new raspberry pi generation has a wifi chip integrated but I just have a Raspberry Pi B+, so I am instructed to use the ESP32 if possible.

Thanks for anyone who can help!
Best regards,
Robert

I have not seen any example using the ESP32 as a “Wifi dongle” type of device. You could develop a specific app for the ESP32 that received and send data over wifi and communicate with the Rasp Pi over SPI for example, but providing internet connection to the Rasp Pi is a different problem.

Hope it helps.
